Quality in our Product

Quality is a key element of Chanrol’s commitment to delivering value for our customers by understanding their needs and providing products which suit those needs. Since our beginning in 1980, Chanrol has been dedicated to the use of the right people, processes, and highest quality machinery we are able to source internationally to ensure our quality remains the best in the market. We take great pride in the combined experience and expertise of the people who helped establish that tradition of quality. Many of these people have been with Chanrol for a number of years, and together with their colleagues who have joined us more recently, they have put their methods to work in the planning and creation of our current generation of products as well as the support of our innovative production processes. We are committed to the continual improvement of our processes and performance at every level.

Quality in Development

Our product development cycle ensures that functional and technical requirements are defined and documented, that projects are planned, scheduled, and controlled, and that manufactured products are thoroughly tested both individually and for compatibility with other products as relevant.

Quality in Testing & Innovation

We routinely conduct product testing and new products are tested by customers in their environments prior to sale to ensure they perform under the conditions in which they will be used. We are constantly working with our raw material supplier to improve the quality of our raw material and to better tailor it to the needs of our customers and the market. In addition to this, we maintain our constant commitment to complying with all relevant laws, regulations, and other applicable requirements in every aspect of our operations.

2. GOOD MANUFACTURING PRACTICES

Chanrol recognises that good manufacturing practices must lie at the heart of our commitment to quality for our customers. At a practical level this is evident in the following areas:

2a

Raw Materials Quality Assurance

Chanrol uses only food grade raw materials in the manufacture of our products. The raw material used meets the requirements of Australian Standard 2070 - 1999, “Plastics Materials for Food Contact Use”. The base polymer complies with the United States of America Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Code of Federal Regulations 21 CFR177.1520 (a)(1) and (c)1.1.

2b

Batch Identification

Each boxed product is clearly identified with a date stamp and packer number, and is labelled with a production number to clearly identify the batch, date of manufacture and authorisation details. Computer records are kept of all production batches and authorisation details.

2c

Cleanliness Standards

Product within each box is sleeved and or lined, and is then tape sealed on top and sides of the box to protect against dust contamination.

2d

Product Quality Testing

Products from each batch are regularly tested for both visual and functional compliance with required standards. In addition to individual products being tested cross testing of lids and containers together is also regularly conducted to ensure lid-fit parameters are met and for early identification of product shrinkage issues.

2e

Production Quality Controls

All efforts are made to ensure that foreign material does not enter the production chain. Raw material is filtered prior to entering the machine, and hairnets are worn by production staff. If a quality issue is identified, adjustments are made as soon as practical to rectify any problem, and quality-affected product is removed from the manufacturing stream. Product quality issues reported to any member of our sales staff by a customer are immediately entered into a central database used for identification of quality issues by our production team.

2f

Pest Control

A pest eradication process is undertaken at regular intervals to prevent contamination of product.
